Hello! My name is Julia Lefer, and I am very excited about being your child's fourth grade teacher! We are going to have a fantastic year!
Educational Background: I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with degrees in Psychology and Elementary Education. I then went on to complete graduate school at Montclair State University for Special Education, and I received Orton-Gillingham Teacher Certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I have certifications in Elementary Education, Middle School Math, Special Education, Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Reading Instruction, and I am highly qualified in Middle School Language Arts.
Professional Background: Upon graduating college, I worked as a maternity leave replacement in a 2nd and 3rd grade classroom. I then taught 4th grade in East Newark, NJ. In 2014, I was hired in Demarest and began working as a Special Education teacher at Demarest Middle School. After several years at DMS, I began working at LLE. I love being in an elementary classroom and teaching 4th grade!
Fun Facts: When I am not teaching, I love to spend time outside. I take my daughter out for walks and runs as much as possible when the weather is nice! I also love to cook and read. I have a love of reading that I make sure to bring to class every day!
