WHAT IS SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY?is an intructional way for children and/or adults to learn how to:
Speech and Language Therapy
*communicate effectively both verbally and nonverbally
*understand and comprehend spoken language
*to use language effectively: both spoken language and written language
USE AND DEVELOP SPEECH/ARTICULATION/PHONOLOGY:
*Children learn how to use their articulators ( lips, tongue, jaw, teeth) in an organized way to produce sounds/phonemes
*Therapy is performed in a fun and playful manner utilizing different modeling techniques.
We play games, and do art projects to illicit target sounds and to encourage correct productions of their sounds.Social Skills and Manners*The children are taught to respect their peers and to be "good listeners".* A lot of time is spent developing and improving social language in a variety of contexts.
