• Our mission at the Demarest Public Schools is to develop in each student a lifelong love of learning, strong self-esteem, ethical values, and a respect and appreciation for diversity to help every child reach his or her full potential. We are ever grateful to the Demarest Board of Education, administration, teachers, support staff and volunteers.

I am proud to share the news that our preschool program, DEL (Demarest Early Learners) has expanded to four classes.  This tuition based inclusive program serves students of ages three and four, as it benefits children with and without disabilities socially, academically, and emotionally.  Our inaugural year has proven to be a tremendous success. Finally, at County Road School (CRS) the kitchen was updated and new unit ventilators were installed to effectively heat the building.

In other district news, we are expanding our STEM program into the third grade, modeling the success of the fourth grade program, which was launched last year. At Luther Lee Emerson School (LLE), enhancements were made to our computer lab, as well as our Smartboards. The parking lot has been repaved and our boiler system has been upgraded.

The Northwood Avenue parking lot at Demarest Middle School (DMS) was repaved this summer. All of the Smartboards have been upgraded and the seventh and eighth grade wing has all new flooring, which looks fabulous.

Once again our PTO was extremely generous in supporting our schools this year.   County Road School received an add-on to the main playground; further, some of our classrooms now have state-of-the-art furniture, and many advances to serve our children and aid our teachers.

The Board of Education and administration invite and encourage your feedback, participation, and suggestions.  Here are a few ways you can stay informed:  email, weekly PTO newsletters, quarterly district Chalkboard newsletters, monthly Board meetings, Back-to-School Nights, staff webpages, and teacher conferences.  I encourage you to utilize our new App which provides access to our district website and school calendar.

Thank you for your continued support in the Demarest School System.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Fox
