Anna Kuzdraj, M.A., P.D.School Psychologist

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I begin my third year as a School Psychologist within the Demarest School District. During the 2016-2017 academic school year, my role within the Demarest School District will be case management, psycho-educational evaluations, social-emotional/adaptive/behavioral evaluations, working on the Intervention and Referral Services Team, individual counseling, and facilitating social skills groups as well as lunch bunches.
I have received my Professional Diploma in School Psychology as well as my Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the Nathan Weiss Graduate College at Kean University. Currently, I am a New Jersey Certified School Psychologist. I am in the process of attaining my national certification through the National Association of School Psychologists. During my graduate studies, I completed two internship experiences as well as one extensive externship experience. Throughout each of these educational opportunities, I worked with as well as provided services to students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12. Through my internship as well as externship experiences and my employment as a School Psychologist within the Demarest School District, I have been provided with the opportunity to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and coworkers in order to provide students with an educational experience which meets each of their individualized needs. In addition, I have gained experience in delivering counseling services and working with students independently as well as within in group settings in order to facilitate the development of appropriate coping mechanisms which provide students with the tools required to deal with difficulties they may be experiencing. Finally, I have been provided with the opportunity to administer appropriate assessments, work on creating Individualized Education Plans, and advocate for the well being of students in my charge.
As my educational belief is that all students should be provided with an academic experience which meets each of their individual academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs, I am eager to begin the 2016-2017 school year and collaborate with teachers, parents, related service providers, and students themselves in order to provide each child with an extraordinary educational experience.Below are some helpful links:National Association of Parents with Children in Special Educationhttp://www.napcse.org/Council for Exceptional Childrenhttp://www.cec.sped.org/
